Ancient Rhythms

Ancient Rhythms

Brazilian Jazz!
Bill Kopper's Ancient Rhythms is a Brazilian Jazz journey, two years in the making. Produced by Bill and world-touring artist Erik Deutsch, Bill's original compositions will keep you hooked with magnetic guitar motifs, innovative percussion and an array of instruments that keep the soundstage fresh and colorful. The first cymbal hit on From The Outside sets the stage for intricate percussion throughout the album that keeps the groove moving. Percussionist, Paa Kow, is experimental and ingenious, bringing in dried bean pods he found in the alley behind the studio to weave into the fabric of Elegia. Bill's guitar and Erik's piano play off each other perfectly in Casa de Carmen and Modern Art. Textures of flute, saxophone, and synth keep each piece unique. Bill brings in electric tones on Stars Rain and Times Squared to give the listener a multi-layered guitar experience. Recorded on the Sonoma and Pyramix DSD systems and mixed on the Pyramix, this album perfectly captures Octave's transition from one system to the next. Available on SACD and downloads.
