  1. Great interview Paul! I enjoy learning about the history and the interconnections of high end companies. I have heard of Jim McCullough but did not know the tremendous impact he had on the companies with which he was involved. My one issue might be with the segue sounds. The musical interludes are nice but the other sounds, like tape rewinding, are to me startling. The voices are kind of soothing and then I feel zapped by noise. Pretty nit picky I know. Keep the podcasts coming please, they’re great.

    1. +1 on the dislike for the segue sounds. Like superfluous do-dads in an audio circuit, what do they add? What’s wrong with a simple straight ahead interview? If the topic is interesting I’ll continue listening, no need for all the unrelated inserts.

  2. Loved the interview. I was not familiar with Jim McCullough so that made the story much more interesting. I knew Mike Kay from Lyric Hi Fi but he hardly spoke a word to me any time I went into the store. He always had a tough guy look watching everything that was going on around him. Mark Levinson is a whole different story which I shared with you personally Paul and would rather not go into the details but Mark and I knew each other well for about three months until I finally was able to shake him loose. He was a real pit bull but quite brilliant and always thinking of the next idea. One good thing about our relationship was that Mark shared a lot of personal stories with me. He led a very interesting life. I hear that he lives on a small island off Australia or New Zealand at present and still does custom work.
