Dogs must be on leashes! Unless... I don't generally like the sound of horns. Unless... Tube amplifiers all have mushy bass! Unless... Often it's the exceptions to the rules that define the best products, the greatest sound systems. I can't recall having heard an extraordinary system that played by the rules, that was just stock, out of the box and worked. The very best I have heard are the exceptions, the clever pairings, the aha! moments when a new cable makes all the difference in the world. Our preconceptions for what works and doesn't are never ironclad, or at least they shouldn't be. Unless, of course...
