I have never been much of a sports fan. I coached my boys T-Ball team and rooted at their soccer matches. I watch the World Series and if there's nothing else going on perhaps the SuperBowl. Rarely do I know which teams are playing.
I suppose that means I am not all that competitive but I take a different view. When it comes to competition our company jumps into high gear with an intense desire to build something that breaks new ground.
Our new products don't target our fellow manufacturer's best efforts. They are imagined, designed, engineered, and manufactured to compete with the state-of-the-art: how great can music sound through a 2-channel system? How close can we get to the source? How accurate can we get to the sound of live music? How engaging is the sound? How much pleasure can we wring out of wires, parts, and digits?
The battle isn't amongst others in our industry. It is between our designers and the universe.
How high can we climb?
