We're an adaptive species. Given enough time we can get used to just about anything.
When I walk into a room playing music, sometimes the audio quality is so far removed from what I consider acceptable that I take a step back and recalibrate my standards. I have to as it's a bit of a struggle for me to hear poorly reproduced sound.
That said, once I do recalibrate, I can enjoy the music itself—not its quality of reproduction, but the notes and the emotional content.
Sometimes we get lucky and the opposite happens. We walk into a room where the music and the sound are out of this world—like taking a bite of the best food you've ever tasted. No hesitance. No reluctance. Just acceptance.
It's good we're adaptable enough to make do with what's available.
Sometimes, we get it all.
