Audiophilia published an outstanding review of the Aspen FR5 loudspeaker. They noted, “The air of Akinmusire's trumpet is palpable, and Halvorson's Guild archtop guitar sings with phrasing that fragments your mind. The FR5's make this album [Slo-Mo Neon Luminate Hoverings by Mary Halvorson] not just enjoyable, but an unforgettable listening experience.” The review concluded with, “I consider these speakers to be some of the best I’ve heard… Although these speakers might seem like audiophile entry-level considering PS Audio’s FR line ([including] the FR10, FR20, and FR30), I can assure you these FR5 are fantastic top-of-the-line speakers.”
Future Audiophile praised the PMG Signature DAC, stating, “I found that the PS Audio 512 DAC brought each instrument to life in a way that I typically experience in a live musical performance.” The review also noted, “The PS Audio PMG Signature 512 DAC has a presentation that is most recognizable by outstanding clarity. Layer upon layer of detail is revealed by the Signature 512 in a way that is natural, not forced. Clearly, the attention given to reducing noise and timing errors is to thank. Music flows from the speakers across a rich soundstage, which sounds wide and deep, as compared to other digital components.”
The review concluded, “There is an immediacy to every note that is highly addictive. The PMG Signature 512 DAC is my kind of DAC.”
Future Audiophile also gave a highly positive review of the PowerPlant 12. The reviewer noted, “[Diana Krall’s] cover of “Heart of Gold” is about as good as female vocals will sound...What I heard was more detail in Krall’s voice, which also sounded smoother and more silken.” He continued, “The benefits of the PS Audio Power Plant 12 on my front end were real and easily audible. The component is filled with forward-thinking and evolved technology, which is refreshing. The logistics of how to plug my system into the PS Audio Power Plant 12 made life pretty easy, but it was the smooth, layered and detailed sound upgrade that most impressed me.”
