2 or 12?

2 or 12?

Combining two-channel purity with home theater ambition is always a compromise, but not necessarily a bad one.

Purists sometimes recoil at the idea, fearing sonic dilution. Yet for many music lovers, the room must serve multiple purposes, and ignoring that reality doesn’t make it go away.

Shared systems often mean shared rooms, and shared rooms mean shared lives.

If blending surround sound with stereo keeps peace at home, that’s not a trivial benefit. And heck, we're all after higher fidelity even if that refers to marital fidelity too!

The key is clarity of priorities.

If 80 percent of your listening is dedicated two-channel, protect that performance first. Build the theater elements around it rather than the other way around.

With thoughtful design, you can enjoy both Mahler and Marvel without feeling shortchanged.
