My eyes light up when I get the chance to audition a new piece of kit or circuit concept that enhances the performance of my system.
I don't initially focus on any potential side effects or downsides—not if it does what it's purported to do.
Problems can be dealt with later.
What draws me in is the chance for better: the thrill of looking deeper into the music, of increasing the three dimensionality of the soundstage, of being more into the music. The potential benefits of improvement outweighs any measurement or cautionary caveat.
To me, it's performance first, worrying about the niggling details second.
