What if no one was there?

I figure there's perhaps 100,000 Audiophiles in the world. 700 or so of them read this daily post I write.

I often wonder if it makes sense to write something that most people will not read.

I guess it's the same basic question philosophers have been asking for centuries: if a tree falls and no one is there to hear it, does it actually make a sound?

I think the answer is yes, but not for the same reason you might think.

The difference is the internet and the digital library of the world. Each time I write a post, or you click on the Facebook Like icon, send a friend a copy, comment on the article, the conversation becomes part of the landscape and will add to the culture for many years to come.

How very different this model is from just a few years ago.

I am hoping to make a difference by jotting my thoughts down each day and adding them to the digital library of the world.

I encourage you to do the same and become part of the fabric of our small part of the world.

Now it all matters.
