What would happen if we auditioned vintage PS Audio electronics from a few decades back, then swapped in the current gear?
Would what we consider musical magic still be there?
The brutal truth? Digital no, analog yes.
The very first digital products were...well...tough to listen to. But the older analog products? Even 40-year-old analog products are wonderfully magical—even if that magic occurred through 1,000 veils.
Fact is, I was pleasantly satisfied with the sound of our vintage equipment and, as an added bonus, swelling with pride at how far we've come with today's products and what we've accomplished in both disciplines.
Worth a listen if you can.
