Resonance

What's it mean for a piece of music to resonate with us? Is that a clue about the music or the way it was received?

When something resonates with us somewhere deep inside a connection has been made. Perhaps it's due to the melody being familiar, or the mood of the track is the same as your mood, or perhaps—when you were tired of hard and bright sound—you resonated with a better rendition or presentation.

Resonance isn't always good. We can resonate with something painful that causes us to move away from it.

In the end, I think we're all looking to resonate in a positive way with the music.

For me, there's nothing quite as satisfying as cranking up tunes that put a smile on my face.
