Quality vs. content

Quality vs. content
I don't listen to many bad recordings, even if the musical content's great. It was once a quality vs. content issue because bad recordings were made worse while good recordings were made better. Over the years, and as equipment has gotten better, that's no longer the case. Today, all types of recording qualities play nice on the system, yet, I still focus on the better recordings even at the expense of musical content. Why? Because of time. I don't get as much listening time as I would like. Life just gets in the way. And for me, what time I do spend enjoying the system is time I want to maximize. Am I greedy? You bet. Greedy that I want great quality and great quality. With so much good music today we don't have to settle for second or third best.
