Perfection

There’s no perfect format. Only better implementations.

Vinyl has its following. So does CD, SACD, high-res downloads, and streaming. Each format has its loyalists—and its myths. But after decades of designing gear for all of them, I’ve learned one thing: no format is inherently perfect. Every one has compromises.

What matters is how well it's implemented.

That’s why I focus less on the format and more on the system. If you build your gear with care—starting from power delivery, through signal integrity, all the way to the loudspeakers—great sound can come from just about any source.

Instead of asking which format is best, I ask: is the music speaking to me?

If it is, the format has done its job.
