Standing in the supermarket aisle looking at all the packaging proclaiming organic this and organic that, it occurred to me high-end audio is similar.
We don't tolerate artificial ingredients.
The Frito-Lay version of audio might be a fancy bells and whistles integrated with 5-band equalizer, loudness control, dynamic range compensation, and a clever character pitching its virtues of sound better than the source.
And that's kind of the deal, right? Organic foods aren't supposed to be better than their sources, but rather so pure as to be delicious on their own merits.
True to the source.
If your speakers aren't up to the task or your source is compromised, then adding a dose of MSG along with industrial grade fats and salts might just be the ticket to make your mouth water.
Not great for long term health, but spectacular in the moment.
