I value more the opinions of people I am familiar with and trust.
A stranger wearing earbuds, telling me it's the best sound they've ever heard, probably isn't going to sway my personal standards for great sound.
And, opinions are like that. Reviewers, critics, friends, and strangers all have opinions. Which ones to trust?
I think the simple answer is to suss out the like-minded among us. The opinions of sound quality from a fellow audiophile would mean more to me than those of the local car salesman.
