Getting it right

If you get the midrange right, everything else falls into place.

The human ear is most sensitive between 300Hz and 3kHz. That’s where vocals live, where instrumental tone develops, where presence is built. And yet, many systems prioritize treble sparkle or deep bass at the expense of the midrange.

When Chris voiced the Aspen speakers, he spent more time on the midrange than any other part of the spectrum. That’s where emotion lives. A nasal honk, a recessed voice, a glassy sheen—all of these are midrange issues.

Fix the midrange, and suddenly your system sounds human again.
