Hmmmm. There's merit in this statement. In fact, it really addresses the point of a modern recording.
We're not trying to recreate what you hear in row 10, middle seat behind the lady with the big hat. No, that may be the best seat in the house, but that's not even close to what a nearfield capture of the music sounds like.
Great recordings like those we work hard to create at Octave Records are better than live.
