The PerfectWave AC5 is the second best sounding power cable in the PerfectWave line. Use it to power sources, amps and regenerators to maximize their full performance benefits.
Getting the power from the wall receptacle to your equipment without added noise and flow restriction is crucial when building a high-performance system. Stock power cables constrict and compress audio transients as a result of restricting the transient AC current. To get the most out of your system's performance, you must rely upon specially constructed power cables that focus on peak energy delivery and superior shielding. The AC5 is our most popular AC cable. It provides a low noise, low impedance path for the AC power to connect your equipment to either a Power Plant AC Regenerator or the wall outlet in your home. Improvements to both audio and video performance are dramatic and immediate.
PS Audio's PerfectWave AC-5 power cable will improve the sound of your components within minutes of connection. A powerful 10-gauge cable featuring Linear Crystal pure copper, multiple shields, multiple gauge geometry, and custom machined connectors, AC-5 is the most popular power cable we have ever delivered to our customers. Its low-noise, high-speed design stems from five patents and years of listening tests. You'll instantly hear a new level of refined beauty, power, and spaciousness from your music while bringing breathtaking openness, quick transients, greater slam, and much sought-after warmth to any equipment to which it's connected.
The design philosophy of the PerfectWave AC Series is based on two goals: Reduce noise without magnetic restriction and channel the fundamentals through the conductor's core. Both goals are achieved by leveraging the technology found in five patents that use cable geometry as well as conductor shapes and sizes to achieve remarkable results. AC noise, generated by every electrical appliance in your home, audibly degrades your system's performance. The AC Series takes advantage of a patent involving the increased surface area of the conductor, in close proximity to a specific dielectric, to maximize capacitance and lower noise.
All conductors in the PerfectWave AC Series are spool tested at the factory for directionality and wound into the power cables in the same direction. This attention to detail provides a remarkable coherence and special accuracy to the sound of connected equipment. Connectors are equally important. PerfectWave AC Series connectors are built out of a solid block of high copper content brass, and then polished to remove any surface irregularities. Attaching the conductors to the connectors employs two forms of welding to fuse the conductor to the machined prong, creating a perfect bond.
