Winter solstice is on December 21st. It is the shortest day of the year. History is full of celebrations around the solstice, and I am pretty sure just about every culture has theirs.
Today is the 25th, 4 days on the other side of the shortest day. I am celebrating Christmas with my family with a fire going, presents under the tree, lots of fun and good cheer. There's snow on the ground here in the central mountains of Colorado. It's a wonderful time of year and whatever your culture practices around the solstice, I hope you have a family filled time with plenty of good cheer.
Merry Christmas.
