  1. Will PS Audio be releasing a CD/DSD (DVD) player in the Stellar series, such that owners of the PS Audio Stellar stack can enjoy the PS Audio Octave music, through the PS Audio I2S interface.
Within the signature series the DS Memory Player was released a couple of years ago that played the DSD layer of SACD’s but that player is way over the Stellar budget.
Stellar stack owners would certainly appreciate a CD/DSD player with al PS Audio typical benefits in the Stellar price range.

    1. I'd love to be able to offer a disc player from us at Stellar pricing but it'll be hard. If we do, and I hope we can, it'll be able to play from the included datadisc which will have DSD files right on it.

  2. I am looking forward to the content, but am still not clear on the interface. I guess I will be able to purchase a DSD stream, but what about a hard disc? And then how do I get DSD off the disc? Through I2S, HDMI, or USB?

    1. Octave releases will always be through download and physical disc (maybe even vinyl someday). The physical discs will be CD and data. If you want the pure DSD masters, use the DVD datadisc. Any PS player can play off that disc and connect to our DACs through I2S easily enough. For non-PS players, use the data disc to transfer the pure DSD files to a hard drive and play through your server or however you communicate with your DAC.

      1. I own a Rolling Stones remix of one of their early records, on vinyl that Gus Skinnas mixed using it's DSD technology. It sounds amazingly good. I have never heard vinyl record with music from that era sounding so good.

    1. It depends on what medium they are stored. If on a disc like a DVD datadisc then it's one way (a transport with digital out) and if stored on a hard drive it's another way, through a server that can provide DoP (DVD over PCM) and a DAC that can handle all this.

Or transports can do it as well as our DACs. Best thing to do if you're really interested is to give our folks a call. 800 PSAUDIO and let the guys in our customer outreach department help you.
