  1. I’m more inclined to believe that how a source communicates (interacts) with an amplifier (impedance matching), & to a lesser extent, how an amplifier communicates (as above)
with a pair of loudspeakers, will be a much bigger factor in finding/creating the synergy
within the sum of the components of a home audio system, than what cables you hook
them all up with…just sayin’ 🙂

  2. My friend Neil told me about this video yesterday, over the phone.
Sometimes, I wonder why doesn’t some of Paul’s videos show up in my inbox until a day or two later?
I asked Neil how he felt about Hosa cables.
He told me that, he’s never heard of them until I brought them up.
These cables may not be up to any audiophile’s standard, but you get pretty close to the perfick sound for less money then what you’ll pay for audiophile cables.
But that’s just what I think, because, I have Hosa cables driving just about all of my sound equipment around here.

  3. I’ve used Sommer, Klotz and Van Damme cables. They generally cost less than one USD per foot. I’ve no complaints about sound quality but I haven’t done an AB or ABX test. These cables win on grounds of flexibility, abrasion resistance and low microphonics.

  4. I haven’t tried them all, but I’ve tried quite a few cables in my systems over the years, and I keep coming back to standard Mogami 2534 Mic cable as interconnects, both bal and unbalanced. I’ve found little that sounds any better at anywhere near the cost, and it’s easy to make into your own custom lengths. Speaker cables are a different beast, as performance is much more dependent on what you’re connecting, especially when it comes to high output impedance tube amps and speakers with complex impedance curves. Of course, I’m also a notorious cheapskate, so that may be why I DIY so much of my stuff. Loving the videos Paul, cheers from Canada!
