Actually, Paul, Cambridge is better known in the audio world for being the neighbour of Huntingdon, about 8 or 9 miles away, home of companies like dCS, Quad, Cyrus, EAR, and probably others I can’t remember. You’d like Cambridge because there is a fantastic place for vegan ice cream. There are lots of clever people as well and it’s also a global centre for technology venture capital.

As the UK is a relatively small market and many manufacturers export a lot or most of their stuff, they often include 120/240v switches on the back panel and sometimes internally.
Some hifi components have universal power supplies, so can be plugged in anywhere in the world with any voltage or frequency.
So it may be worthwhile calling or emailing the UK manufacturers as there may be a hidden switch and they will certainly know what to do as they will all probably sell into the 120v land.
True Steve but not all systems have that. He should look into it.
I recently looked into buying an integrated on AudioWoof which is made up of primarily
Euro products most of which sell at lower prices than the same product in the USA.
The designer/owner of the product in question told me it is a very simple change to
the interior wiring to swap from 220 to 110 volt.
Yes. But… surely what he needs is a step -UP transformer.
