Imagine my surprise and delight when I received in the mail a card from a Mr. Joseph Pickel of New Jersey. Inside was the following note: "My grandmother worked for Victor Talking Machines in Camden, New Jersey. Throughout the years, she had saved a few ads and I thought you might appreciate the enclosed from 1913. At a cost of as much as $500 in 1913, (about the same today as $13,000) it begs the question were there audiophiles in 1913?" (Victor Fibre Needles can be repointed and used 8 times!). Thanks to Joseph for this wonderful jaunt back 108 years in time where it all began.
