Clean sheet of paper

Most of what we do is a tweak what we have. We spice this, polish that, rearrange, rethink, and experiment with what has worked in the past.

It's relatively rare we start with a clean sheet of paper and imagine everything new.

New speakers, electronics, and cables?

When I get stuck in my ways I like to mentally refresh things by giving myself permission to start fresh. I imagine an empty room and an unlimited budget.

Just for fun.

That exercise inevitably brings me back to where I am today but with some new insights as to what the weaker links in the chain might be.

Why am I still hanging on to this or that?

Clean sheets of paper help us loosen our grip on the past so that we might make sure those old treasures are worth keeping.
