No space for CD's

Last night we attended a wedding in Denver for one of the kid's best friends. This is a group of 30 somethings that absolutely adore music. It's a central part of their lives. As much a part of their lives, if not more, than my generation in the 60's and 70's. And they worship vinyl. To them, there's but one leap from MP3, vinyl.

It's cool, it's retro, it sounds so much better than what seems their only alternative: compressed crap. Somehow the entire CD era came and went for this generation without ever making a dent. MP3 or vinyl. But music.

At the reception there was the DJ for the dancing. No computers, no MP3's. Vinyl. It's cool, it's retro, it went from sounding really great to awful depending on the volume level: the little underpowered amps shreiking in protest when it got loud. But music. It didn't matter.

We danced the night away having fun and it was a real treat to see just how much love of music there was with this generation. A worship actually.

My ears are still ringing but the fun and great tunes remain.
