Going Direct

PS Audio has a long history of shaking things up in the audio industry, and we’re excited to be doing it again. During our 45-year history, we’ve always sold direct to end-users in the US, and we’ve also had a significant presence in dealer showrooms across America.

Over the past several years, our factory-direct sales have increased tremendously.  We take commitments to our customers very seriously, and we’ve taken many steps to ensure that our customers are happy: that they get the right products, that those products are performing perfectly, and that the experience of working with us is pleasant and satisfying.

Customer satisfaction is our highest priority. As we continue our efforts to enhance the customer experience, we are moving towards all US sales being direct from the factory in Boulder.

We will soon be bringing in new features and options so we can take even better care of all our customers, whom we really do consider as part of our Hi-Fi Family. Our extensive network of international distributors will not be affected by any changes.

Buying factory direct in the US has these benefits:

  • Sales always come with a 30-day money-back guarantee. There are no hidden fees or restocking charges.
  • We now offer same-day shipping so no need to wait.
  • We buy back any brand of our customers’ audio gear at its full and original retail price. Details here.
  • Two-way shipping within the US is always free. If the unit is returned, we pay for that shipping as well.
  • Expert advice is available from our Hi-Fi Specialists as well as the engineers and designers of the products themselves. Just pick up the phone and call.
  • In the unlikely event a problem arises with a product under warranty, we will pay for shipping to the factory, fix the problem, and return the unit within 48 hours of receiving the product. We will pay return shipping, as well.

During the next year, we’ll be introducing a number of new products, including our first speakers, a new integrated, transport, Obsidian DAC, a new DirectStream Mountain Top free upgrade, and Octave Server among others we haven’t even told you of. There will also be a number of new and cool initiatives that will benefit our worldwide Hi-Fi family we can’t wait to unveil to you.

We look forward to welcoming a new generation to our Hi-Fi Family as we continue to grow!

AN3 and Fremer at RMAF

By the time most of you have a chance to read this newsletter it’s likely we’ll be setting up our room at the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest in Denver, Colorado. This is an exciting show for us for a couple of reasons.

First, we’ll be showing the 2nd version of the AN3 loudspeaker, which has gone through significant improvements since we first debuted the prototypes in Chicago, last April. There’s all new custom drivers, new cabinetry, new DSP, and more than we have room to cover in this newsletter. If you have a chance, come by and have a listen and a look!

Our new Stellar Phono Preamplifier is making waves! It’s the best sounding phono stage PS Audio has produced in its 45-year history, and not by a little.

Senior Contributing Editor at Stereophile and Editor of Analog Planet, Michael Fremer will be playing some of his personal favorite discs in the PS Audio room using the new Stellar Phono Preamp and a VPI HW-40 turntable, Friday and Saturday at 2:30 PM, Sunday at 11:00 AM. Come join us!

Copper Magazine

“I have loved Rickie Lee Jones from day one; though the truth be known, early on probably more for the fact that she was the hot blond laid across Tom Waits’ hood on the cover of his album Blue Valentines. That love affair continued into her work as an artist, especially with her second album, Pirates, where I felt she had really found her voice. I must have played “Woody and Dutch on the Slow Train to Peking” a thousand times, frequently to the accompaniment of my darling, doting wife’s proclamation of “JESUS, COULD YOU PLEASE TURN THAT FUCKING RACKET DOWN!”

Stellar Phono

“This is a golden age for phono stages when a company can build something that sounds as good as the Stellar at that kind of price. Build wise, sound-wise, I actually don’t know how they pulled it off.”

Indeed, we’ve just released one of our most ambitious products ever, the new Stellar Phono Preamplifier. 100% discrete FET circuitry launched in a crowded field of integrated circuit designs, this new revolution in phono reproduction has to be heard to be believed: sweet, musical, and rich.

“For the vinyl newbie or someone looking for their first high-end separate phono stage, this is pretty much a no-brainer.”

Our beta test has concluded and the testers have posted their findings on our forums here

Call or email us if you’re in the US and would like to try one at home, or if outside the US, please contact your local dealer. Stellars have begun shipping.

Nutty!

Nutty is a Los Angeles-based jazz octet that performs classic rock songs re-imagined as jazz.  They do this by blending jazz quotes with familiar rock songs creating an oddball collaborative hybrid: a rock/jazz pastiche if you will.

Their sound represents a ‘50s through ‘60s-era vibe of straight-ahead, big band, Latin and bop, with crime/spy jazz elements, film/television soundtracks and a huge emphasis on swingin’.

I just love these guys and if ever they are in the Denver area we’re going to nab them for Octave Records.

Jump into their music via their YouTube channel. Their videos are a hoot and these musicians deserve some serious kudos for the life they bring to music.

Their songs are available to listen to here.
