I suppose by now you’ve probably heard the big news I promised last month?

After nearly a five year run with the PerfectWave DAC, it’s time to retire the old girl and bring in her replacement. It’s called DirectStream.

DirectStream is not an upgrade to the PWD, but an entirely new and revolutionary product that has already set the high-end world abuzz.

On March 1st we’re going to shake up the world of high-end audio. In a big way.

It’s the start of the new year for most of us already, although our friends in China will be celebrating their new year starting this Friday. So it’s time to focus on all the good things we can accomplish this new year and hopefully music and getting our systems to sound their best are among them. I know they are for me.

It’s that time of year again when everything draws to a close and we start reflecting on our year’s past. On Wednesday it’s 2014. We hope all of you and yours have a wonderful new year and get everything you want in life.

Happy holidays to you and your families. This is a great time of year as the seasons change, snow starts falling here in Colorado and we get ready for the big festivals and feasts shared all over the world in recognition of the changing year.

Every year in October the Colorado Audio Society puts on one of the biggest consumer high-end shows in the country, the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest (RMAF) and we were there meeting our friends and making new ones. You can see a picture of the room we were in.

By now most all of you have heard of the devastating floods in Colorado, the worst of which hit outlying areas close to Boulder but not actually in Boulder. Don’t get me wrong it was scary enough in Boulder with the sirens blaring and announcements of impending doom going all night. Here’s a picture I took the day after the worst that hit Boulder roared through. This used to be the athletic field at Boulder High School.

I started out last month’s newsletter telling you that Terri and I were headed out to parts north of Boulder to enjoy some hiking and a few days off.
I think we may have found one of the prettiest spots ever – Lake Louise near Banff Canada. Here’s a shot I took with my phone – it was simply amazing.

If you’ve ever been a Zappa fan you’ll know where Terri and I are heading out to for a vacation tomorrow. We’re also going to be visiting Glacier National Park then on to Banff Canada for a few days of R and R.
