      If you take a close look at both the data disc and the SACD highbred disc, they both were put down on DVD’s.
      They are both double layer discs.
      But all of it, is all on one side.
      Your DVD or SACD player, can read one layer or the other.

  1. These days, whenever I can, I’ll download source content rather than purchase little plastic and metal discs. So I chose the download-only option for the ‘Audiophile Reference Disc’ at the Octave Records online shop and grabbed the guide via Amazon Kindle. I’m glad Paul chose to support this capability for all Octave Records titles. With cheaper and better data networks and increasingly compact home data storage systems, even the multi-gigabyte, high-resolution DSD files pose no particular difficulty.

  2. I think something that Scott was wanting to know is why the Hi-Res is on a DVD. The fact is that it has the storage capability required for the size of the files on a single disc. If put on a standard CD it would require multiple CDs to do the job.
