  1. fibre optic from tv to dac is ok, for sub , but lacks clarity and mid to hi
also a blu ray disc feeding into the the tv, the tv sound ,will be on a delay with the dac fibre optic
only solution is to use hdmi out from tv to a proper decoder , dac not much use

  2. IMO that would be a waste of money. I also have a Denon (fairly far up the price ladder for them) and for TV and movies in surround and atmos, it is, indeed…good enough. Actually, it’s pretty fantastic. Is it at the level of my stereo setup? No. But it just doesn’t have to be. But that’s just me.

  3. I have an el-cheapo ALDI 58″ 4K Flatscreen…it cost me AU$440, on special, &
the HD picture is just brilliant & sharp, even if it were to cost another AU$1,000.
The sound that comes out of that thing, if the sound recording engineer has
done a good job, through an external amplifier & pair of loudspeakers blows
    me away.
I can’t see the point of upgrading the internal DAC with an external one, after all,
it’s only a television…we’re not talking high-end music reproduction here.
“Different strokes for different folks” ✌
