  1. The localization of a phantom image produced by a pair of loudspeakers is also depending on the frequency of the sound source. I learned that for best localization in the horizontal plane the tweeters should be placed showing to the center when the speakers are flipped horizontally. Things become even more complicated when seeing the influence of different frequency bands (Blauert bands) on the localization.

  2. I think the new design makes a lot more sense and will present a bigger market opportunity, although a center channel is of zero interest to me. I might be interested in a great new 2 way design to integrate with my woofers, but I would have no interest in a floor stander with built in subs no matter how well thought out. For one thing, those subs will present interaction problems with the smaller drivers in a connected cabinet, no matter how rigid. Overcoming that interaction will be needlessly complicated and costly. Secondly, woofers can be better integrated into a typical home environment when placed optimally, not in the same location as the smaller drivers which are optimized for imaging as opposed to bass extension. Anyway, my 2 cents and good luck with the project.
