Does The Audiophile’s Guide have a CD?
Subscribe to Ask Paul Ask a QuestionThe new Audiophile's Guide book has a companion SACD that together makes a complete package. Can the SACD be played on a conventional CD player? The answer is yes, but perhaps more important is learning about this incredible new guide for setting up your stereo system.
Yes…you need to get Amazon here in the UK to stock the CD. I’d like to have both but there are some negative reviews appearing over here about the book only being half-baked without the CD which naturally puts me off purchasing. Nor do I wish to pay exorbitant import rates for a disc from the US. I hope PS Audio can resolve this for (potential) overseas customers.
Just buy it directly from us here: https://www.psaudio.com/products/the-audiophiles-guide-and-reference-disc/
Thanks Paul. I’ll check out what import rates apply these days. I was stung a few years back with import rates from the US that doubled the cost of the product. Not a PS Audio issue I know, but still something for me to consider in the overall cost of things. Cheers!
Perhaps PS Audios UK dealer/distributor can assist UK customers with the Audiophiles Guide & disk.
Good suggestion. That would work for me.
Maybe I am misunderstanding Paul here, but I have a number of SACD discs that do NOT have a CD layer, they will play only on an SACD player. I have many with both, but several with SACD only. I tried to play one once on a non-SACD deck, no go.
Most SACD have a CD layer. I am surprised you have those that do not. In any case, ours does have a CD layer so just pop it into the CD player and away you go.
Thanks Paul. One of my favorites, James Taylor Hourglass (Columbia Records) is SACD only. And just a few others. The JT ones says “This disc is designed for use in super audio CD players only” right on the disc itself. Looking forward to your Audiophiles Guide SACD showing up here. I have the book, now waiting (patiently) for the disc!
