July 2002
The cat’s finally out of the bag. What everyone affectionately refers to as the “skunk works” (Paul) at PS Audio has been working steadily on a much requested item, the Digital Lens II. Well, we’re not announcing its release at the moment, but one of the side benefits of this research program is a new component for your system.

June 2002
Can you believe it? We actually heard what you were saying and figured out a way to give you what you want! Time and again we have been asked by our friends to produce a high-end power cord for everyday use. No, not the wildest, 10 pound-per-foot mondo-cool power cord, but a truly excellent power cord that no one would ever feel anything less than tickled to have connected to their equipment. Well, it’s here: the Micro Lab Cable .

May 2002
Now here’s something really unique and cool. How many times has a manufacturer asked you to help design their product? Most likely, never. So, here’s your chance. We are introducing the new PS 8.0 preamplifier in the fall of 2002. Our target is an under $2,000 preamplifier that is state-of-the-art with respect to sonics and functionality and should be a perfect mate for any power amplifier.

April 2002
As promised, dozens of our revolutionary new Hybrid Class A power amplifiers shipped in March and have been delivered to the waiting arms of our customers! If you were one of the fortunate ones to have ordered early, you should be hearing some great tunes very soon! For those of you just getting wind of the HCA-2, it is a stereo power amplifier that produces no heat, 150 watts per channel into 8 ohms, and sounds better than most power amplifiers.

March 2002
It’s been nearly 5 years since PS Audio has produced a new piece of audio gear. In fact, since Paul took the company back in the late 1990’s we’ve made nothing but AC power products. That is all about to change. In a matter of days, the first 25 pieces of the Hybrid Class A power amplifier (HCA-2) will ship to those people fortunate enough to have ordered early.

February 2002
The Hybrid Class A beta units have started to ship to their new homes. The first unit was picked up by FEDEX and sent to Richard Hollis, one of our first 10 beta testers. We will work with Rich to solve any initial problems he might have and then wait for his report. The other Beta Testers will start to receive their units in the next few days. Paul is listening to each and every one of these beauties to make sure it sounds the way it should.

January 2002
We just returned from another CES (Consumer Electronics Show) and this time we went for the gusto – showing in the convention center rather than the Alexis Park. As promised, we documented most of our escapades of what it is like to setup a CES booth, run the booth, and do the tear down. The report is written from a most unusual angle and “tells all” in a CES report unlike any you’ve ever read.

December 2001
In November’s newsletter we asked our members to sign up to be Beta Testers for our new power amplifiers. Over 1000 of you responded and we thank you! Everyone that took the time to respond is eligible for a free Power Port with their next order. Narrowing the field down was a tough job and one that Paul stayed out of (for the most part).

November 2001
Our amplifier design efforts have been ongoing for nearly 30 years. In all that time, we have introduced some of the world’s most innovative designs AND we have been fortunate enough to have an audience who listens. For more than a year now, PS Audio has been working very hard to continue this great amplifier tradition.

October 2001
PS Audio is very pleased to announce the great success of our newest power product, the “Power Director”. The Director began shipping immediately after CEDIA and already is beginning to receive rave reviews from consumers and dealers alike.
