Hi Paul,

Just wondering when will there be a write up on the AV3000 and AV5000? Thanks.

We are actually just getting ready to start shipping these units, and we will have the product overviews up on the website in the next couple of days. In the mean time, it might be quicker if you have any questions to ask me directly!

The write up for the AV3000 and AV5000 have finally up. However, the photos showing the rear of the unit are exactly the same in both write up. Actually, the photo is exactly the same as the Power Play 9000, which didn’t reflect the actual 9000 either.

Are the rear of both the AV3000 and AV5000 exactly the same and the power cord is NON-removable?

Also, are the AV3000 and AV5000 available in both silver and black? How long is the warranty?

Can the receptacles be swapped out by the consumers and will that void the warranty?

Appreciate your clarification. Thanks.

I posted the descriptions on Friday, but was missing photo’s so I used the 9000 photos we already had on the site. I expect to get the correct photos up this week. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Both the AV-3000 and 5000 feature our Power Port outlets. They are pretty easy to swap. We don’t void the warranty for opening the cover of our product, like some other companies. So if you are comfortable with changing the outlets go for it. Of course if some of your work causes damage it won’t be covered under the warranty, so use your own judgment.

The warranty of both are 90 days out of the both, and can be extended to 3 years if you register the product.

Oh also, the power cord is a standard 15 amp removable type. Technically it is a C14 chassis mounted male receptacle which interfaces with any C13 style power cable. It will accept any of our IEC style cables.

FYI - here’s a great resource for IEC cable connector types:

Have the specs for the AV-3000 changed? The information page for the AV-3000 has a chart comparing the 3000 and the 5000 which says the 3000 does not have Power Port outlets. The picture at Audio Advisor shows no Power Ports.

Also, what does it mean in the chart when it says the AV-3000 has no front panel touch control? The demonstraion video at Audio Advisor show the presenter turning off zones from the front panel.

The front panel of the AV-5000 features a touchscreen interface. This provides full control over each individual outlet just by touching the indicator on the screen.

The AV-3000 offers control via the three buttons below the screen. It’s not quite as elegant as the touch interface, but gets the job done.

Early prototypes of the AV-3000 did not feature Power Ports. The production units do feature the Power Ports as listed on our site. The comparison list has now been updated to reflect the correct information.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Does the AV-3000 have Power Ports? Some dealer websites say yes, some say no.

It looks like I was not clear in my post. Yes - all of the AV-3000’s have Power Ports. 5 Power Ports on each unit for a total of 10 outlets.

Also for those interested it is EASY to upgrade the outlets to Power Port Premiers maniacal laugh

Are the AV3000 and AV5000 shipping now or just taking order? Anyone using them care to let us know how you like them? Thanks.

The 3000 and the 5000 have been shipping for nearly two months. We should have some online reviews hitting any day now.

Other than the user interface, are the models AV3000 and AV5000 of equal effectiveness in their filtering/conditioning?

The AV-3000 has roughly the same filtering level as the Quintet, whereas the AV-5000 features the same filtration as our top of the line PowerPlay IPC-9000. Although the AV-3000 best nearly all of our competitors products, it’s a very significant difference in filtration when you take the jump to the 5000.
