Something else entirely.  Everything is wrong with the Sonos - and I don’t mean that in a bad way since Sonos is a great and fun to use product.  It’s just a consumer product and not much care was put into the things that are important to high end folks like you and I.

The clocking is wrong, the frame is limited, the buffer short and so forth.  I don’t want to get into a whole discussion about the why of this since it’s not my place or business to suggest what others aren’t doing right.  Suffice it to say after looking at all the ways people execute these things, very few are doing it correctly.  How much of a difference that actually makes remains to be seen.  I don’t have a Cullen modified Sonos here. We did our own modification taking the I2S output directly from the Sonos - which sounds ten times better than the normal S/PDIF out, but not really in the same league as the Bridge.

But other than that, what’s the problem? smile

Kidding aside, thanks for the feedback.  I look forward to trying the Bridge in conjunction with the Luddite-friendly PWL™ wink , when they become available.

I greatly look forward to the release of the Bridge, which I will be using with the PWD to replace my Logitech Transporter. The Transporter is a fantastic product that has served me well, but it tops out at 24bit/96kHz. After reading in the May newsletter about the initial limited supply of Bridge units upon release, I was wondering if PS Audio was considering starting a list of people committed to buying, so as to prioritize who gets the unit in the initial production run of 100, the second production run of 200, and so on. If so, I am throwing my hat in the ring for a place on that list.

Paul, is it safe to assume that the Bridge will allow streaming of high rez FLAC files, for instance 24 bit/96KHz or even 24 bit/192KHz flac files???  Reason being most of us don’t have just wav files for high rez but also flac files.

Thanks for the help.

It is in fact safe to assume that. smile
