Something else entirely. Everything is wrong with the Sonos - and I don’t mean that in a bad way since Sonos is a great and fun to use product. It’s just a consumer product and not much care was put into the things that are important to high end folks like you and I.
The clocking is wrong, the frame is limited, the buffer short and so forth. I don’t want to get into a whole discussion about the why of this since it’s not my place or business to suggest what others aren’t doing right. Suffice it to say after looking at all the ways people execute these things, very few are doing it correctly. How much of a difference that actually makes remains to be seen. I don’t have a Cullen modified Sonos here. We did our own modification taking the I2S output directly from the Sonos - which sounds ten times better than the normal S/PDIF out, but not really in the same league as the Bridge.
