Statement SC, Premier SC vs AC-10 & AC-12

Hi to all. Thanks for participating.

For those who have changed from either of the cables listed, I am sure by now, the Inaugural Ball is over. I would like to hear from you guys, in all honesty, what was given up and what was gained, as I have heard a lot about 3-dimension sound increase, bass weight increase, but not much has been discussed about mid-range, snap or rhythmic pace. Which leads me to believe that the new AC’s are a warm sounding cable. I am sure it has to be one of the 3, warm, neutral or cool. If this is the new Lexus of PS Audio, (I have a new AC-3(tad warm) for now and Statement SC’s(neutral), looking to get an AC-10 or 12) a Toyota still shows hints of a Lexus because they are both manufactured by Toyota. (Still great cars). Is this true of the rest of the AC Series?

If you guys could please list what you liked about the old cables that might be missing from the new and what you like about the new that the old just couldn’t do.

Thanks in advance!

jewel vs Punch C7 AC cable

I currently use one each C7 Punch AC cables plugged into each of my two comcast converter cable boxes. Nice improvement.

What is the difference between the new Jewel line of C7 cables vs the older Punch C7s that I have now? Asking as I may need more C7s for other ‘mass-marketed’ boxes. unfortunately the Samsung Model 6500 blue ray player I bought last week is AC harded wired. I wonder if one could go in and re-wire to a C7 or IEC female connector?

Input and output THD of the PPP is the same

I have a 3 months old PPP which normally has a Input THD of about 4% and a Output THD of about 0.5%. Starting yesterday, both the Input and Output THD are running between 1.3% to 1.6% all the time. Unplugged the PPP for 10 hours and the has the same reading, even if there is nothing plugged into the PPP.

Is that normal?

Warranty service for Canadians….

Just has a question regarding warranty service. With the Canadian distributors come and go during the past 2 years, just wondering where to send the products for warranty service in the following situation:

1) Products that were stocks from Dimexs

2) Products that were stocks from PSA which were purchased after Dimexs quit and before Jan. 31, 2010

3) Products that were new old stocks from Dimexs that the dealers are still selling right now

Do we have a choice to ship the products back to PSA for warranty service even though they are Aralex’s stock? Thanks for your time.

PWD Touch Screen

Hi All,

I’m just settling into and really enjoying my new PWD. I can’t wait for the Lens to bump this puppy up to high gear

Just wondering what other folks think of the touch screen feature. Personally if find it 100% useless. I watched several Youtube videos featuring Paul, who seemed very proud of this feature, but I can’t help but feel that I would have been completely happy without. I’ve never used it once. Isn’t that what the remote is for? Do you really want all those fingerprints on your gear?

I assume this consumed quite a bit of r&d time and expense. I personally would have rather had that time and money go to to, let’s say including a super high end power cord, or an included Lens feature, or almost anything else.

What do you think?

Best,

Michael

Also do you have tentative date when you plan to introduce the new PWA
