Thinking more on the issue of feeling threatened about music's reproduction, it occurs to me the very nature of music is emotional and perhaps that's part of the problem. Emotions beget emotions.
I am always fascinated when music grabs hold of me and sucks me into its sphere; like the words of a good book. The connection many of us have with music is purely emotional, rarely rational, either resonating or not. And when we do get connected it's at the expense of everything else around us, like being swept into a vortex.
Few things in life so quickly connect with our inner beings.
Music, it's food for the soul.
